Hospice Patient Care Volunteers
Hospice volunteers are an integral part of the Hospice team and supplement our patients’ in-home caregivers. They also provide friendly visits to patients living in skilled nursing facilities and the Veterans Home of California in Yountville.
Some areas of opportunity for volunteering with patients and their families are as follows:
- Relief for family caregivers
- Emotional and practical support
- Bereavement support
- Shopping/errands
- Transportation
- Friendly visiting
- Telephone reassurance
- Canine-assisted therapy
Support Volunteers
Support volunteers are essential to supporting the ongoing functions of the organization. They work with office staff, on special projects from their homes, or on-site at our fundraising activities.
Some areas of opportunity for volunteering in support of our organization include:
- General office projects such as photocopying, filing, and telephone support
- Speaker’s bureau
- Data entry
- Special projects
- Mailings
- Errands
- Fundraising and special events
